Prof. Dr. Kris Rutten and doctoral researcher and teaching assistant Amanda Adam from the research group 'Culture & Education' (Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogical Sciences at Ghent University) wrote "Schermen met Cultuur" (Screens with Culture) as an intergenerational dialogue about cultural experience and mediation in the age of screens. Through it, they investigate how culture today is also shared and experienced on and through screens. The book draws from experiences collaborating on cultural initiatives, such as Film Fest Gent's Teacher's Day, and offers inspiration for further engaging with cultural experience in education and beyond.
In connection with the book presentation, they invite diverse cultural players—from curators and audience engagement staff to artists and dramaturgs—to participate in a panel discussion about the broader opportunities, challenges, and future of culture and arts education and mediation in Flanders today.
