Director's Talk: About Barbara Hammer

Discover the work of pioneering filmmaker Barbara Hammer in conversation with Nicole Fernández Ferrer, audiovisual archivist, curator and president of the Simone de Beauvoir Audiovisual Centre. Drawing on her close work with Hammer and decades of expertise in feminist film and video, Fernández Ferrer offers a unique perspective on Hammer’s radical, intimate and influential body of work. This talk will take place immediately after ‘Barbara Hammer: A Short Film Retrospective’, in which five of Hammer’s short films will be screened Dyketactics, Sappho, Audience, Snow Job: The Media Hysteria of AIDS and A Horse is Not a Metaphor.
