Film Fest Gent plays an important role for the film and film music sectors, both nationally and internationally. The industry programme is a meeting point for the Belgian and international film and film music profession. The festival also draws (international) attention to Belgian film and film music talent. Below you will find all info for professionals.

Submit your film

The 53rd Film Fest Gent is scheduled October 7th to 18th 2026. Every year in October Film Fest Gent presents some 120 feature films and 50 shorts from all over the world in various sections to an audience of over 100,000 spectators.

We will open the new call for entries from mid January 2026 onwards.

The 53rd Film Fest Gent (scheduled for 7-18 October 2026) will once again include a wide choice of films from all over the world, mainly focusing on fiction films (long and short) and, to a lesser extent, to documentary (long and short). Animation is also included.

Deadline for submissions is 1 July 2026.
Shorts for the Belgian Short Film Competition can be submitted until September.

Accreditations

From August 1st 2026, journalists and film professionals can apply for an accreditation for the 53rd edition of the festival.

Film and film music students from a selection of (Belgian) schools can apply for an accreditation starting September 2026. All applications go through your personal MyFFG account.
