Op het van 19 tot 29 oktober 2023 gehouden internationale documentaire festival Doclisboa worden de experimentele documentaire La force diagonale van Annik Leroy en Julie Morel plus de korte hybride fictiefilm Terril van Jorn Plucieniczak vertoond.

Holly van Fien Troch, de openingsfilm van de 50ste editie van Film Fest Gent, staat op de veertig titels tellende shortlist voor de European Film Awards. Naast Holly worden er hier tussen 10 en 21 oktober 2023 nog meer dan een dozijn andere titels uit die shortlist vertoond.

Because four of the five nominees for the LUX Audience Award 2024 will be screened at the 50th edition of Film Fest Gent, in addition to voting for our own North Sea Port audience award, you can also cast your vote for a European film award. The "Ghent" nominees are: 20 000 especies de abejas, Fallen Leaves, Smoke Sauna Sisterhood and Der Lehrerzimmer. Sur L'Adamant is the previously screened fifth nominee.
