The Prosecution (A vád)

A farmer family prepares for another Christmas in wartime. It is 1944 and war still looms over Hungary. Cannons echo from not-so-far distant skies. Undeterred, consolation is found in the unity of the family. The biggest concern is Peter, a son who has deserted the army. Military police are looking for him and his family fear he will be found. When a first wave of Russian soldiers arrive, hope of victory fills the house. However, a second wave of troops present a different situation. They ransack the farm and two soldiers try to rape the women. Forced to protest his sisters, Peter kills one of them and is arrested....
