Two women and a man are inextricably tied to one another and yet appear to be permanently separate from one another. Marie and Dolly do not know each other and never meet, even though they frequent the same places. What links them is that they are both – secretly or not – being filmed by Geert, who talks to them while he films them and with whom they are clearly having an intimate relationship. Marie is a theatre actress who fills her days rehearsing her minor roles and lives alone. Dolly does voice-overs for radio advertisements, suffers from an incurable disease and lives with Geert. The similarity of their lives creates a constant tension in the story: the situation is unclear. What is going on? What is the connection between the two women and how does the role of the man who is filming them relate to them? Why do they play their games and lie, and why is it that they never bump into each other? Are we in fact dealing with one and the same woman? Is the man deceiving the women, or they him?
