A woman lives. By her side, her husband is dying away. For 24 hours, this woman will remember the illness of her husband, their happy life, their love. During 24 hours she will take care of him, attends him, patiently expecting death which is gradually nearing. Eva learns Death by fits and starts. Sometimes, pain dissolves. Hope comes back. Life is there, strong and invading as a wave. Eva is a woman made for happiness. Under the most striking circumstances, she remains aloof to events. Instead of “playing” her participation to the agony of the others, she dares say: “Standing people watch those lying in bed with the same obtuse amazement as the fish following a flying bird”.
