When Julie Kohler’s husband David is shot outside church on their wedding day, she leaves her home town in a quest to avenge his death. Bent on revenge, fueled with murderous intent and utilizing a series of disguises, Julie tracks down five men she believes to have played a role in her husband’s demise. She sexually enslaves them, and then engineers their deaths. The question is, does she have the right men? Francois Truffaut's homage to the suspenseful mystery films of Alfred Hitchcock is supported by a wonderful ominous score by Bernard Hermann, who often worked for the master himself. The story is based on the novel by Cornell Woolrich.
