Glitterbug

Glitterbug is a montage film of Jarman's magnificent super 8 footage from 1970 to 1986. lt's a stimulating, joyous and evoca­tive self-portrait of Jarman the artist and his milieu, showing times of fun and pleasure with friends, together with moments of high camp in the early 70s and frivolity on the sets of his films. Brian Eno's soundtrack eloquently captures the mood and ambience of the times and places in this journey of in­timacy and discovery. "In a way I think these films are the center of my film making. I find them for myself obviously as interesting, perhaps more interesting than the feature films ... I think it's important for any filmmaker to keep his or her center." (Derek Jarman)
