De Trip van Teetje

A young business man from Rotterdam, Tate, thinks he has the chance of his life when he can buy a large Russian ship that has been impounded. After he buys it, he finds out that the ship does not just contain a cargo, but also a crew that hasn’t been able to go ashore for months. Tate would most like to set sail at once and sell the cargo somewhere, but all kinds of problems prevent this. In the course of the film Tate finds out that the world is more than just earning money. As a consequence of the atmosphere on board, the mutual solidarity and the difficult position of the sailors, Tate starts to understand them more and questions his own way of life. When his girlfriend falls in love with the first mate, Tate’s transformation is complete.
