Forming an almost hypnotic image of the flow of life in a small rural town of clapboard houses and spacious skies, "Dandelion" is a dramatic and unpretentious exploration of existential awakening. Mason Mullich grows up among the windswept fields and infinite skies. In nature, he escapes the pain around him. His family leads a life of quiet desperation. His father, a grain-factory worker, is frustrated about the missed opportunities in his life. His mother desperately tries to hold the family together and numbs the pain with pills and drink. Then the self-destructive Mason meets Danny, a girl who recently moved to his town with her mother. She is a happy girl, despite the fact that her parents are divorced and that she has a fairly nomadic lifestyle. It looks as if something beautiful could blossom between the two of them. But then an accident befalls the family and complications set in with Danny. A tragic series of events unfolds.
"Dandelion" is a sensitive, tender drama that explores the mystery of love in its various disguises.
