Chakmeh (The Boot)

60' - 1993 - Drama, Family - Dialogue: Persian
Director: Mohammad-Ali Talebi Composer: Mohammad Reza Aligholi With: Ali Atashkar, Samaneh Jafar-Jalali, Raya Nasiri
Struggling to keep in line with her capricious little daughter, a doting but frazzled seamstress (presumably a war widow) shells out for a new pair of red boots. To her daughter the new boots are the most beautiful things in the world. But when she nods off on the bus, one boot slips off and is lost. The boot's tortuous path round the city is amusingly tracked. Later, through the encounter with a boy, the little girl realizes that there are things more beautiful than her new boots.
