This is a comedy about the off-beat escapades of Jack Solow and his quintet. His dream is to play the jazz clubs on 52nd Street, but reality is playing "Sorrento" at Italian weddings and "Doggie in the Window" at crummy dives in New Jersey. For Jack, music is everything. Or so he thinks. Given one year by his friends to get the group off the ground, Jack struggles to get them into a jazz spot. But all he can manage is one frustrating audition after another. Only when Jack meets Benita, a dancing teacher, does he begin to wonder if perhaps there might be more to life than eternal rejection...
