Saïd's family lives in an isolated village in the mountains. His pregnant wife Aicha and his children live in poverty and try to survive the hard winter season. In order to support his family, Saïd is obliged to move to Casablanca, much to Aicha's dislike, who considers it a dangerous city that devours human beings. Together with Ottman and Ismail, Saïd finds a job in a restaurant. They have a very hard life: Ottman is concerned about his horse, which his mother takes care of, Ismael is obsessed by the idea of getting a very expensive pair of shoes and Saïd gets a letter from his wife begging him to come home for the baby's birth. Things turn out badly for the characters. The city will ultimately win: in Casablanca the angels don't fly, only predators survive. "A Casablanca les anges ne volent pas" is a film showing the difficulties of living in Morocco where even the most simple dreams are not easy to fulfil.
