Scenario in Virtual Reality - in collaboration with the Screenwriters' Guild & Directors Guild of Flanders
Directors Joren Vandenbroucke (The Great Escape) and Kate Voet and Victor Maes (A Long Goodbye), whose VR short films will premiere in Belgium at Film Fest Gent and have already made their way to the Venice Immersive Competition at the Venice Film Festival, will join screenwriter Raf Njotea to delve deeper into the creative and technical processes of their projects.
Consulting approach - talk Franz Rodenkirchen and Françoise von Roy in collaboration with deAuteurs
Franz Rodenkirchen and Françoise von Roy (Solace 23) support filmmakers and writers with their unique approach to script consultancy, based on the idea that not every story needs to be told in the same way and not every film needs to appeal to the audience in the same way. The internationally acclaimed script consultants are also teachers of creative screenplay development and, during the talk, they will provide insight into their experiences and into shaping a visual narrative beyond classic clichés. From 11 to 13 October, on the initiative of deAuteurs, the duo will also be giving Script Circle, a unique workshop on creative screenplay development for screenwriters, directors and producers.

The needs and support of creators – panel discussion in collaboration with Sabam
At Sabam's request, the Screenwriters' Guild conducted an analysis of its members' needs. On Film Profession Day, we are pleased to share these insights with the sector. What percentage of their total income do screenwriters earn from actual screenwriting work on average? (And how much can you charge for your work?) Which authorities do they most often turn to with questions? What kind of support is most needed in the sector at the moment? And finally: how can professional associations and collecting societies best work together to create a sustainable ecosystem for audiovisual creators?

Presentation of public survey results - in collaboration with VAF and the CJM department
At the request of the Flemish Audiovisual Fund, the Department of Culture, Youth and Media commissioned the research agency Indiville to conduct a public survey of cinema-goers in Flanders and Brussels. The survey examined the profile, behaviour, expectations and motives of cinema and film theatre visitors, while also focusing on non-visitors. On Dag van het Filmberoep, Indiville will launch the results, conclusions and recommendations that could strengthen cinema attendance and the exhibitor sector.
