In 2020, the World Soundtrack Awards (WSA) will take place on Saturday 24 October at Capitole Gent. Next year, Film Fest Gent is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the World Soundtrack Awards. As is traditional, the WSA gala will close the 47th edition of the festival.
In addition to the WSA gala, a theme concert takes place annually: next year it will happen on Thursday 22 October 2020.
Dirk Brossé, musical director of Film Fest Gent: “The ingredients of the World Soundtrack Awards have remained intact throughout the past twenty years: an internationally renowned film music awards show, the composers’ competition, and the Lifetime Achievement Award for composers who have contributed a body of work of outstanding artistic significance. But it really is the chemistry between the people in the room for the World Soundtrack Awards soirées that makes us say year after year: this was the best edition ever.”
