THE networking event for professionals in the film music industry

Each year Film Fest Gent organises the WSAwards Industry Day: The networking event for both young and established international film (music) professionals to learn, debate and to socialize.

In different masterclasses and panels during the entire day, guest speakers discuss what’s going on in the international film music industry, teach students about production or composition techniques and talk about the relation between film composer and director. During these sessions, there will be a Q&A and during the lunch, professionals will have the opportunity to meet and speak with each other about their ideas or vision on film music.

Our yearly WSAwards Industry Day will take place on Wednesday 17 October. In the morning there will be masterclasses with (inter)national representatives of professional organisations. The afternoon will be filled with panel discussions with film(music) professionals. Have already confirmed: Spitfire Audio, Florencia di Concilio who will teach a masterclass about orchestration, Lucy Bright, music supervisor en publisher bij Music Sales in London and Chandler Poling, publicist at White Bear PR.

The Industry Day will take place at the Theaterzaal of Vooruit (Ghent, Belgium) from 9h00 - 18h00. Tickets will cost €15 students and people with accreditations (€20 for non-accreditations). We foresee a lunch with sandwiches which forms the ideal occasion to network with other seminar guests.

There is also the possibility of reserving special combi tickets both the Film Music Seminar and the Industry Day (of which the programme will follow soon) for €25*/€35.

Tickets will be available starting from 20/08

3rd Character Project

This project is an initiative originally created by the Aubagne International Film Festival and SACEM. The project aims to enable meetings between emerging composers and duos of directors and producers, when a composer is yet to be found for a film project in production. Read more.
