Let's make a record!
Every year Film Fest Gent records a compilation album with a selection of the best scores by one particular composer. In 2019 the CD Marco Beltrami - Music for Film was released during the film festival.
Film Fest Gent is eager to put film composers in the spotlight during the World Soundtrack Awards, but we also want to spread their music for film in other ways. With that in mind, we annually organise the production of a unique compilation album of one particular film composer. Over the years, we have recorded soundtracks by Gabriel Yared, Angelo Badalamenti, Alan Silvestri, Craig Armstrong, Shigeru Umebayashi, Mychael Danna, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Terence Blanchard.
The music is performed by Brussels Philharmonic and conducted by Dirk Brossé. The latest series of albums is recorded by MotorMusic and licensed to Silva Screen Records.
The 2019 album includes cues and unique suites from a selection of Marco Beltrami's best film scores, such as Scream, Snowpiercer, World War Z, Gods of Egypt and A Quiet Place.

In 2018 our guest of honor Carter Burwell's film scores were bundled onto a unique compilation for the first time. You can enjoy the film scores he has composed for Fargo, In Bruges, Twilight and Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri, to name but a few. The live recording also includes exclusive and unreleased tracks from The Spanish Prisoner and Olive Kitteridge.
