The LGBTQ community is not always welcomed in Georgia, where homo- and transphobic organizations are all too common. Not surprising, then, that the cast and crew of 'And Then We Danced' feared banishment when their project was nominated for the Queer Palm at Cannes this year. But, The Swedish-Georgian director has brought forward a touching and engaging tale of a young dancer's sexual awakening that can hold its own amidst all the commotion. Merab, a member of the Central Georgian Ensemble, has grown close to his dance partner, Mary, and his environment expects the two to become a pair. But everything changes when handsome, elegant Irakli joins the ensemble. Merab experiences a whirlpool of emotions he cannot quite explain...
