'In a Glass Cage' proves that film can still shock the viewer. An ex-concentration camp doctor, Klaus, has not changed his brutal ways after the war. When he is blackmailed with images of his most recent rape and murder of a young boy, he throws himself out of a window. His suicide attempt fails but collapses his lungs during the fall and is now permanently confined to an iron lung. His blackmailer, and former victim Angelo, shows up later and offers his services as Klaus' nurse. To force Klaus to be confronted with his horrors, Angelo takes over his role of sadomasochistic torturer, bringing boys to the iron lung to rape, experiment on, torture and ultimately kill.
