A kind, if naïve, young man get pushed into the role of the hero due to unforeseen circumstances: a recurring theme in Buster Keaton's film. The great comedian from the silent film era offered its viewing audience surrealistic, sometimes fear-inducing, tales. But the characters never bat an eye, as if unaware of any impending doom. This gained Keaton the nickname 'The Great Stone'. Author-director Peter Bogdanovich, known for great knowledge on classic Hollywood cinema offers us a documentary that will captivate both those who want a first introduction to Keaton and die-hard cinephiles.
