Film Fest Gent - The Art of Self-Defense

In 'The Art of Self-Defense,' Jesse Eisenberg plays a persnickety accountant, who studies French, dines alone, owns a wiener dog, is often mistaken for a woman on the phone, and makes photocopies of porn rags. His attempts at making friends at the office are largely ignored. One night, Casey gets robbed at gunpoint by a group of bikers, causing his fears to escalate. He's determined to buy a firearm to protect himself, but his plans change when he passes by a karate class. Under the tutelage of Sensei (Alessandro Nivola) the nerdy, wimpy Casey is transformed into an aggressive bully.
