Film Fest Gent - Sons of Denmark

Denmark, 2025. A year after a vicious bombing shook Copenhagen to its very core, the nationalistic politician Martin Nordahl is set to win the elections with ease. Nordahl uses the population's fear as a dangerous tool during his campaign, turning an angry and scared population against any and all migrants. Danish xenophobia is heightened, and a group of neo-Nazis rise to the foreground, committing hate crimes as they go. After countless racist attacks, Danish-Iranian Zakaria is fed up and joins the ranks of an extremist organization that plans to assassinate the politician. Will the police manage to break this vicious circle and repopulate the Danish middle ground?
