Fantasy and reality are inseparable in Villaronga's 'Black Bread'. Set in a Catalonia that is still recovering from the Civil War, the story follows a little boy called Andreu. When Andreu discovers the ravaged remains of a local father and son in a farmhouse, he begins to discover the savagery that human beings are capable of. A shattering film about the loss of childhood.
