Focus on Spanish Cinema

Isaak Lacuesta, also known as Spain's most underrated director, zooms in on the inner lives of two Roma brothers, in the region of Cadiz. On the outside, the brothers are like light and day. One, Chelto, a military man who dreams of opening a bakery, has his life figured out. The other, Isra, has just been released from prison and is alienated by his wife and children. This drama about the abandonment of society's weaker citizens carefully walks the line between fact and fiction, with its two amateur lead actors, hand-held filming and documentary-feel.
