Film Fest Gent - Echo

'Echo' is a Christmas film, but not in the traditional sense. The film is made up of a collection of vignettes set against the frosty December Icelandic landscape. Dogs get freaked out by fireworks, an abandoned farmhouse is burnt to the ground and chicken corpses roam around an empty slaughterhouse. This total of 56 independent scenes, populated with amateur actors, showcases the beautiful as well as the bizarre and the grimy sides of modern Iceland.
