The ultimate paradox of Brazilian society is unapologetically brought forward in 'Divino Amor': its extreme piety and simultaneous extreme hedonism. In 2027, Brazil has become a hotbed of a strict form of evangelical Christianity, that emphasizes the need to conceive above all other duties. Joana wants nothing more than to show she is a good Christian but cannot get pregnant, no matter how hard she and her husband try. Even as a part of 'Divino Amor', a religious cult that encourages and even enforces partner swaps, she remains barren. Meanwhile, her biological clock keeps ticking away...
