Film Fest Gent presents the short film 'Undocumented Love' by Fatma Osman in world premiere. The film is accompanied by a selection of short films made at the Cinemaximiliaan project house, which were seen in international premiere at Sarajevo Film Festival. Three of these films, 'Braided love' by Rand Abou Fakher, 'Cheers!' by Angela Al-Souliman and 'Letter from Brussels' by Omar Al Samarrai were made in a workshop with Béla Tarr at Cinemaximilaan. 'Screaming in Silence' by Marof Hakimi was made with assistance of Rokhsareh Ghaemmaghami and Julie De Clercq. Flemish film maker Hans Van Nuffel was the mentor for 'Undocumented Love'.

Cinemaximiliaan brings films and debates to asylum centres, private homes and film theatres, and builds bridges between newcomers and locals. Last year, Film Fest Gent supported Cinemaximiliaan with a benefit and the possibility for the public to donate when buying film tickets.
