Gala Premières and special events

Shot entirely in black and white, Brian Welsh's 'Beats' takes us back in time, to the mid-1990s, when the Scottish rave scene was booming. The story focuses on two teenage boys, Spanner (act) and Johnno (act), determined to have the night of their life, before they go their separate ways. Their goal is to attend a rave, which has been declared illegal by the Tory government. The viewer is taken along on this nostalgic coming of age story, with pumping base lines and flashing lights.
