A White, White Day begins with a car skidding off the road in a thick fog. Two years later, the driver's husband, a hardened off-duty police officer called Ingimundur (act), has isolated himself after his wife's passing. Begrudgingly, he agrees to see the therapist the police brigade has appointed him, but this does nothing to temper his aggressive countenance. His anger is only strengthened when he starts to go through the process of sorting out his wife's possessions, and he begins to fear she had an affair. Soon his suspicions grow into an obsession, as he develops a theory that the man his wife was having the affair with was one of his own younger colleagues. The further he dwells on his wife's actions, the more he alienates those around him, even pushing away the granddaughter he loves more than anything.
