AFTERPARTY @ VOORUIT
Right after the documentary 'In Transit' - where we follow DJ LeFtO in the various undergroundscenes around the world - Azer and Kwak will join is in the Balzaal at the Vooruit for an unforgettable afterparty.
DJ LeFtO invites colleagues who play the most timeless hiphop, funk, soul and all things electronic
Azer got struck with the hiphip genre when he heard A Tribe Calles Quest on a local radiostation in the early 90s. Since then hiphop is his way to go on set, together with some jazz, func, soul, afrobeat and other grooves. An eclectic trip for fans of Dilated Peoples, Hudson Mohawke, Apollo Brown, Oddisee and the legendary Jeru The Damaja.
Kwak grew up with music from Miles Davis, Tito Puente, Funkadelic and The Beatles.
But Kwak had his first 'musical earthquake' when he heard Sugarhill Gang's rap and Motörhead's hardrock. He started to perform as a DJ in the 80s and started, together with DJ Eleven, the partyconcept Strictly Niceness.
When Kwak is performing solo, he's not afraid of mixing different styles. From hiphop to reggae to soul, disco, funk, afrobeat, house, dubstep en much more.
A musical odyssey with classics and renewed dance.
