'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' is a coming-of-age story based on the insanely popular cult novel by Stephen Chbosky in which Charlie (Logan Lerman), an introverted young man, only seems to feel comfortable in the company of his English teacher Bill and the novels he discusses with him. Everything changes when he meets Patrick (Ezra Miller) and his stepsister Sam (Emma Watson) and the three of them start experimenting with soft drugs, mixtapes and nocturnal joyrides. Ezra Miller will appear on the red carpet on Thursday October 18 at 7.30 pm before officially presenting his film to the Ghent festival audience at 8 pm. The screening is completely sold out. On October 18, 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' closes the ExploreZone Competition, a self-willed route throughout the festival program with a very diverse selection from the different festival sections. After the screening, the 5-headed jury, composed of students between the ages of 18 and 26, will announce the winner of the ExploreAward. He or she will get a media campaign in the newspapers De Standaard, Het Nieuwsblad/De Gentenaar, Guido magazine and on the radio channel Studio Brussel. Ezra Miller ''We Need To Talk About Kevin') presents new film in Gent
Ezra Miller, the leading actor from the controversial film 'We Need To Talk About Kevin' will present Stephen Chbosky's 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' at the Ghent Film Festival on Thursday October 18. Besides Miller, the film also stars Emma Watson (from the Harry Potter series) , Logan Lerman ('Percy Jackson & The Olympians: the Lightning Thief'). It will be the third time Ezra makes an appearance on the festival, after 'CIty Island' with Andy Garcia in 2009 and 'We Need To Talk About Kevin' with Tilda Swinton in 2011.
