Students from recognized film schools in Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia can compete for the National Lottery Prize for Best Belgian Short Film by a Student, with a value of €2000. A professional jury will assess the submitted films.

XAVIER ROMBAUT joined Brussels-based production outfit Savage Film in 2010. The company produces fiction and documentary and established itself internationally with Michael R. Roskam's film Bullhead, a box office hit in Belgium in 2011 as well as César and Oscar nominee for Best Foreign Language Film in 2012, and sold to over twenty territories.
Earlier he produced short films with his own production company Emerald Films, with Nathalie Teirlinck’s Venus vs. Me being the most successful as it was awarded at the Berlin Film Festival and nominated for the European Film Awards in 2010.
For Savage Film he was actively involved in several international feature and documentary projects such as The Co(te)lette Film by Mike Figgis, Bullhead and The Racer and the Jailbird by Michael R. Roskam, The Ardennes by Robin Pront and recently The Land of the Enlightened by Pieter-Jan De Pue.
He recently produced the first feature of Nathalie Teirlinck Le Passé devant Nous, to be released in late 2016.
Xavier Rombaut is an EAVE graduate and member of the short film commission of the Flanders Audiovisual Fund.
